MOONTON Games has unveiled the slot allocation for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M8 World Championship, expanding pathways to the global stage. The tournament is scheduled for January 2027, with the Main Stage and Finals in Istanbul, Turkey, and the Wild Card Stage in Bangkok, Thailand.

One of the most significant changes is the expansion of the M8 Wild Card. It will now feature a record 10 teams, an increase from the eight that competed at M7. These teams will battle for three coveted places in the 16-team M8 Main Stage. This is an upgrade from the previous edition, which offered only two Main Stage slots from the Wild Card.

New Pathways and Regional Structure

The structure is built around five major competitive regions: Southeast Asia (SEA), Eastern Europe and Central Asia (EECA), Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), East Asia (EA), and the Americas (AMER). The M Series connects MLBB's established franchised leagues with growing regional competitions.

M8 will also introduce a key change as the first M Series tournament to feature teams from the MLBB Championship Tour (MCT). Together, the expanded Wild Card and the new MCT pathways are designed to increase the number of teams capable of reaching the global stage. This gives teams from developing regions more opportunities to make their mark. You can follow the emerging contenders for these slots in our standings section.

Leadership Vision for Global Growth

Tiger Xu, Global Head of MLBB Esports at MOONTON Games, stated that the changes reflect the company's vision for the game's next phase as it approaches its 10th anniversary. Xu added that connecting more regions to international competition would help create a stronger and more diverse competitive field.

MOONTON Games aims to build an ecosystem where talent from every region can compete at the highest level. The company believes these expanded global pathways will foster a more robust competitive landscape. As teams prepare for the qualification process, detailed squad information will become increasingly valuable for analysts and fans.

The final event details, including the full tournament fixtures, will be confirmed closer to the 2027 date.
