Overwatch Season 4 midseason release date

The Overwatch Season 4 midcycle is likely Sept. 8, according to OverwatchNaeri and OWCavalry. Based on esports.gg’s previous experience with major Tuesday updates and screenshots of the current Battle Pass and weekly challenges, the midseason is likely on or around that date as well.

Interestingly, a post titled “Season 4 midcycle takes you to the BlizzCon stage” made by Blizzard Entertainment on Sept. 4 may also imply a release date closer to either Sept. 12 or Sept. 13. BlizzCon 2026 takes place on those dates, so it’s possible that the event has some major reveals planned for everyone.

Overwatch Season 4 midseason patch notes

For what to expect from the Overwatch Season 4 midseason patch notes, these updates typically include a new mythic skin plus a bunch of balance changes. Players can also reasonably expect a new shop rotation.

We also already know that the new Overwatch x LE SSERAFIM skins go live on Sept. 12. Players can expect some gameplay content tied to the collaboration as well.

At the time of writing and publishing this article, it’s unknown whether the 2026 Overwatch x LE SSERAFIM collaboration features a game mode like the one back in 2023. The gameplay trailer releasing on Sept. 12 may simply be a shows of the new skins.

Additionally, according to systems designer Gavin Winter, players can expect changes to map voting sometime in the near future.

Overwatch Unvaulted Passes delayed in Season 4 midcycle

Blizzard Entertainment previously announced the arrival of Unvaulted Passes in the Overwatch Season 4 midseason as well. However, the feature is now slated for Overwatch Season 5.

“When we introduced the Battle Pass Revamp, we said that Unvaulted Passes would arrive with the Season 4 midseason update.” Overwatch game director Aaron Keller said. “No one likes bugs, and we want to do everything we can to ensure this long-desired feature is as bug free as possible when finally available to you all.”

Overwatch Team Drives

As players wait for the Overwatch Season 4 midseason to arrive, they can duke it out in the Team Drives event. This event begins on Sept. 4 at 11 a.m. PT. That’s the same as 2 p.m. ET.

“Team Drives are back today, September 4.” Blizzard Entertainment stated.
