Anyone's Legend won the 2026 LPL Championship by defeating Bilibili Gaming 3-1 on September 13. The victory secures China's first seed for the upcoming League of Legends World Championship and marks AL's second LPL title, following their Split 2 win in 2025. It also halted BLG's attempt to win all three domestic titles this season.
Jungler Tarzan was named the series MVP, dominating the first two games for AL. In the opening game, he posted a 7/2/5 scoreline on Qiyana. His second game featured an 8/0/6 performance on Cho'Gath. Hope also delivered a key performance in the final game on Miss Fortune, capitalizing on engages from Kael and Tarzan.
A Year of Near Misses
AL spent much of the 2026 season near the top of the standings without securing a major trophy. They finished first in Group S during the Split 1 regular season with an 8-2 record but ultimately placed fourth in the playoffs. The team then finished fourth again in Split 2. Their Split 3 regular season was less dominant, with an 8-6 record for fourth place in Group Ascend, but they advanced to the upper-bracket final after a 3-1 victory over LGD.
BLG had been a consistent obstacle for AL throughout the year. Ahead of the Grand Final, AL had lost their previous six series against BLG in 2026. This included a 3-0 sweep in the upper-bracket final just six days prior, which sent AL into the lower bracket.
The Path Through the Lower Bracket
Dropping to the lower bracket meant AL had to defeat Invictus Gaming to earn a rematch against BLG. Invictus Gaming pushed AL to a full five-game series in the lower-bracket final. AL eventually scraped through with a 3-2 victory, securing at least the LPL's second seed for Worlds. Tarzan was also named Player of the Match for that series.
Worlds Seeding and Schedule
The LPL's seeding for the 2026 World Championship is now partially set. Anyone's Legend will attend as China's first seed, with Bilibili Gaming taking the second seed. The third and fourth seeds are still to be decided. Top Esports and Invictus Gaming will play for the third seed. The loser of that match will face the winner of a series between Team WE and JD Gaming for the fourth and final spot.
All four qualified LPL teams will advance directly to the Swiss Stage of Worlds 2026. This means China's fourth seed will not need to compete in a preliminary qualification match. The Swiss Stage for the tournament begins on October 23 in Allen, Texas.
