Counter-Strike 2 September update fixes
Valve released a Counter-Strike 2 update on September 25 Pacific Time that fixed some cases where loud reload sounds persisted during silent reload

Valve released a Counter-Strike 2 update on September 25 Pacific Time. The patch directly addresses a critical sound bug that compromised the stealth reload mechanic introduced in the recent Rush Hour update.
Players hold the reload key to reload without the usual audio during a silent reload, though the action takes longer. Valve said: "Fixed some cases where loud reloads would persist while trying to stealth reload." When the loud sound persisted, enemies could still hear the reload and pinpoint a player's location. The developer's wording indicates other versions of the bug may still exist. This is the third patch in a row to modify silent reloads.
Previous patches show ongoing silent reload adjustments
This latest fix continues a pattern of rapid refinements. The previous CS2 patch removed a trick that made silent reloads slightly faster when players tapped the reload key before holding it. That same update also fixed a bug that allowed shotguns to fire faster than normal through silent reloads. These consecutive adjustments show Valve's focus on maintaining competitive integrity for the mechanic.
Rush mode receives gap and clipping fixes
The update also closes more exploitable gaps in Rush arenas. Rush is a 3v3 queued mode where teams fight through randomly chosen arenas to reach the enemy castle in short, intense rounds. Valve listed gap fixes and clipping adjustments for Rush but did not name specific arenas. Gaps in map geometry can let players see or shoot through spots they should not, while clipping controls the invisible boundaries for movement and grenade throws. This follows similar Rush clipping changes in the last update, which came after players found places where they could pass through walls and shipping containers.
Custom server owners gain clan tag control
A new server variable gives custom server operators direct control over clan tags. Clan tags returned to CS2 with the Rush Hour update, allowing players in a Steam group to display that group's tag next to their name in-game. The new sv_clantags_enabled option lets operators of community servers and third-party tournament setups disable those tags. Source 2 server variables like this one normally use 1 for on and 0 for off. Adding sv_clantags_enabled 0 to a server configuration file should hide all tags.
Minor visual update to main menu
A small cosmetic change alters the main menu background. The menu now displays other lobby members with the chicken eggs-found after the Rush Hour patch-resting in nests. Valve had left this visual tweak out of the September 22 patch notes.
This September 25 update is the fourth patch since the Rush Hour update arrived on September 22. Server owners can confirm the current value of sv_clantags_enabled by typing the command into the console.
