PUBG Mobile Flash Confirms November 2026 Launch

PUBG Mobile Light is now called PUBG Mobile Flash. The developer confirmed the name change on September 24, 2026, stating that only the branding has been altered while the planned gameplay experience and November 2026 launch window remain unchanged. This lighter version of PUBG Mobile is designed for devices with less storage or processing power, but it is not a separate game with different content.

Tencent Games made the rebranding official. The company has not provided a reason for the switch from 'Light' to 'Flash'. PUBG Mobile described the change as 'just a new name'. All upcoming content planned for the game under its old title will proceed as scheduled.

Pre-registration carries over automatically

Players who signed up for PUBG Mobile Light do not need to take any action. Their pre-registrations are automatically retained for PUBG Mobile Flash. The pre-registration process itself is unchanged.

Pre-registration originally opened on August 25, 2026. New users can sign up directly for PUBG Mobile Flash through the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. The game is free to pre-register.

Launch timeline and regional availability clarified

The game is still set for a global launch in November 2026. An exact release date within that month has not been announced by publisher Level Infinite or developer Krafton.

Regional availability has one key exception. Players in India will not receive PUBG Mobile Flash. Instead, they will get BGMI Lite, a version published by KRAFTON India. It is not yet known if BGMI Lite will undergo a similar name change.

Gameplay features and technical details outlined

PUBG Mobile Flash is a modular, streamlined version of the main game. It uses the same account system, allowing players to log in with their existing PUBG Mobile credentials and retain their friends list and game data. Cross-play functionality will let Flash players squad up with friends on the standard PUBG Mobile client.

The installation is designed to be lightweight. The base install includes the classic Erangel map. Players can then choose to download additional maps and modes as needed. A Closed Beta Test is currently running in selected countries ahead of the full launch. Pre-registering does not guarantee access to this beta, which uses an unfinished build where features and performance may change.

Google Play listing updated with new branding

The official Google Play Store listing has been updated to reflect the new name. It was updated on September 22, 2026, and is published under Level Infinite. The listing's description reads: 'THE ORIGINAL PUBG MOBILE, NOW IN A FLASH'.

The store page includes details on data privacy and purchases. According to the developer-provided disclosure, the game includes in-app purchases and collects personal and financial information among other data categories. The listing states that data is encrypted in transit, not shared with third parties, and that users can request its deletion.

PUBG Mobile Flash was first revealed by producer Rick Li on the final day of the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2026. It succeeds the older PUBG Mobile Lite, a separate game that shut down in 2023 due to optimization and latency issues. Players can pre-register now, and the game will download automatically on launch day if their device's auto-download setting is enabled.
