Faction choice and Wildcard mechanics
Squads must choose between Team Beast and Team Demon at the start of each round. This choice is not cosmetic. It grants access to distinct temporary abilities earned by dealing damage or knocking down enemies.
The Beast path provides movement speed and damage boosts. Abilities include sprinting with weapons holstered, a double jump, quicker weapon reloads, accelerated Shield Cell deployment, and occasional critical shots on reload. The Demon path focuses on increased durability and recharge speed. Its benefits include faster Tactical and Ultimate ability charge, Epic-level shields, and the power to fully recharge shields using a single shield cell.
Map changes and Halloween features
Kings Canyon receives a Halloween makeover. Random fog periodically appears over the battleground, reducing visibility and concealing squad movements. This makes tools like the returning Rev Shell Grenades particularly useful for tracking enemies.
The map is decorated with supernatural elements. Haunted buildings, glowing Nessies, and haunted loot bins are scattered throughout. EVO Orbs now resemble pumpkins. This thematic transformation continues Respawn Entertainment's tradition of altering Kings Canyon for Halloween, referencing previous events like 2025's Raise Hell.
Cosmetics and player progression
New Legend and weapon skins are available. Alter receives a new Legend Skin and a matching R-99 Weapon Skin. Sparrow gets a werewolf-themed Legend Skin and Character Select Animation with an 1980s-inspired design.
To show faction support, players can purchase Beast and Demon-themed Legend Retheme Bundles. These bundles are available for Legends including Revenant, Octane, Fuse, and Conduit.
Technical issues and platform availability
The event is live across multiple platforms. It is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
Developers have addressed several technical issues. A fix was deployed for a problem preventing some platforms from accessing updated language packs.
