The Free Fire OB55 update is scheduled for release on September 16, 2026. According to a video breakdown by LOGIC GAMER, the patch will introduce Halloween-themed content, new weapons, and significant changes to gameplay mechanics like mounts and the spectator system.
New Halloween Theme and Ghost Mask
Halloween will transform parts of the Free Fire map. Locations like the Clock Tower and Factory may feature darker skies, floating vehicles, and tornado-like visual effects. Players can also find a special spooky mask. Using this mask grants a speed boost and transforms the player into a monster-like form with unique sound effects. The mask can also reveal hidden interactive spots where additional loot can be found.
New Weapons and Equipment
Several new weapons were shown in the test build. The final lineup may change before the official release.

Airdrops are getting a visual overhaul. They will now fall like meteorites and crash directly into the ground instead of landing normally. Special loot machines and crates scattered around the map will provide items like UAVs and Healing UAVs.
Gameplay and Character Changes
Horses are receiving two major upgrades. A new Water Horse variant with a ghostly, water-themed appearance will be added. All horses will also get a speed booster, similar to vehicles, allowing players to activate a temporary burst of speed.
The spectator system is being altered. After elimination, players can transform into a ghost-like doll instead of just watching teammates. This doll can move within about 50 metres of surviving squad members. It can jump higher, use four special emotes, and, according to the source video, could be useful for scouting nearby enemies or loot.
Character Kenta is getting a visual and ability rework. The character model now has longer hair. The new ability reportedly lets Kenta launch a whirlwind forward to damage enemies and includes a teleport-related mechanic. The Spider Drone feature is also being improved, allowing players to view the action directly from the drone's perspective when controlling it.
New Grenades and Quality-of-Life Features
Two new grenade types are coming to the Clash Squad mode. A Sonar or Mark Grenade can mark and track enemies, even through cover. A separate Flame or Lava Grenade creates a burning area upon impact, damaging any players caught inside.
Smaller quality-of-life additions are also expected. A Nearby Player Search option will help users find other Free Fire players in their vicinity. Players can choose to display their login streak on their profile banner. A fun Mini Car emote will let players spawn a small vehicle, drive it around, and even have teammates join them for a ride.
