Invictus Gaming clinch final LPL Worlds 2026

Invictus Gaming secured the final LPL spot for Worlds 2026 by defeating JD Gaming 3-1 on Saturday, 19 September. The victory in the lower-bracket final of the LPL Regional Finals sends IG to the global championship alongside Anyone's Legend, Bilibili Gaming, and Top Esports.

JD Gaming's loss ends its qualification hopes. The LPL's seeding for the tournament is now set.

The decisive series

IG started strongly, taking the first game in 33 minutes. JiaQi led the team's 11-3 kill advantage on Tristana, recording six kills and two assists. Rookie supported with four kills and five assists on Syndra while only dying once.

The second game gave IG a commanding 2-0 series lead. Supplementary reporting highlighted Wei's early control of the map on Qiyana, which helped IG build a significant advantage. The team later secured Dragon Soul and Baron to close out the win. In one of the team's victories, match reports credited JiaQi with nine kills and five assists on Ezreal, Wei with five kills and 10 assists on Qiyana, and Rookie with five kills and 11 assists on Aurora.

JDG fought back to win the third game in 34 minutes, keeping the series alive. Junjia was key in that victory, recording 11 kills and 11 assists on Trundle with a single death. IG closed out the series in the fourth game, however, ending JDG's Worlds run.

The qualification path

IG's route to Worlds was arduous. The team first lost 3-1 to Top Esports in the upper-bracket final, sending them into the lower bracket. JDG reached the final match by defeating Team WE in the lower-bracket semifinals.

The qualification means IG returns to the World Championship stage after its Regional Finals campaign. It also marks a return for veteran players Rookie and TheShy.

The LPL lineup for Worlds

With the Regional Finals concluded, the four LPL representatives for Worlds 2026 are confirmed. Their seeding is as follows:

JD Gaming and Team WE, the fourth-place finisher in the Regional Finals, will instead participate in the 2026 Demacia Cup Global Invitational.

Next steps in Texas

All four LPL teams will begin their Worlds 2026 campaign in the Swiss Stage. This stage of the tournament is scheduled to take place in Allen, Texas, from 23 to 31 October.
