Pokemon RGB Mew card confirmed by third pull
A third live opening of the mysterious RGB Mew Pokemon card has all but confirmed its authenticity, casting doubt on earlier rarity estimates.
The mysterious RGB Mew Pokemon Trading Card Game card is now all but confirmed after a third copy was pulled during a live stream. Two more copies appeared on August 28 through different Whatnot accounts, bringing the total number discovered to three.
The unusual card first surfaced on July 25. Australian seller PokeAus Hits opened it from an unreleased Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration booster pack on the Whatnot platform. The card featured textured blue artwork, an illustrator credit for YOSHIROTTEN, and the designation "B/RGB"instead of a standard collector number. Its missing anniversary stamp and absence from leaked checklists led some to argue it was an elaborate custom card."That's 3 Blue ones pulled," Peak Hobby wrote. For the card to be fake, multiple Whatnot sellers would now need to possess highly detailed matching copies and stage separate openings, or unknowingly obtain altered products. The additional footage makes the original one-off hoax theory considerably more difficult to maintain.
The Pokemon Company has still not officially announced RGB Mew. Three physical copies appearing through different accounts provide the strongest public evidence yet that the card is a genuine secret insert.
New pulls question reported rarity
The new pulls also cast doubt on the alleged one-in-20,000 pull rate previously reported by Dexerto. After the third copy surfaced, PokeGrande suggested the actual odds could be closer to one in 500 or one in 1,000. There is currently no public data supporting either estimate. Finding two additional copies within several hours makes one in 20,000 appear less certain.
All three documented live pulls have produced the blue B/RGB card. Peak Hobby consequently questioned whether a purported red copy circulating online was genuine, or whether blue is the only RGB Mew available in packs.
Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration officially launches on September 16. The Pokemon Company has already said cards currently circulating were not distributed through authorized sales channels, prompting eBay to remove early listings. Official confirmation may still have to wait until release.
