GTA 6 fans believe an apartment building in the game mirrors Dexter Morgan's Miami residence from the TV series, suggesting a deliberate Easter Egg.
The new gameplay footage of GTA 6 might have revealed an Easter Egg revolving around the Dexter TV show.
There has been plenty of discussion about Grand Theft Auto 6’s gameplay, map, and mechanics since the extended gameplay showcase premiered on Netflix. However, one of the more intriguing tidbits of information about GTA 6 has largely gone unnoticed so far. Thanks to the community’s keen eye, players have discovered that one of the apartment buildings in GTA 6 looks a lot like the apartment complex from the hit TV series Dexter.
Whether it’s an Easter Egg or just a mighty large coincidence, it appears as though Rockstar Games has modeled one of Leonida’s apartment complexes after the real one in Miami, FL, where Dexter Morgan lives during the Dexter TV show. As you can see in the Twitter post below, the two buildings look nearly identical to each other and are placed in very similar locations near the waterfront.
From the shape of the complexes to the spiral staircase on the left side of the building, it’s hard to tell which one is from GTA 6 and which one is a real satellite image (for reference, the first image is from the Netflix showcase). Even the sidewalks in the grass outside the building line up in both images.
While it’s true that the real apartment complex is in Miami, FL (specifically, the Bay Harbor Islands), it seems like too big a coincidence for this building to be in the game for no reason. It’s extremely likely this is an Easter Egg purposefully put inside GTA 6 by the developers. There could be an ulterior motive for the building’s existence in Leonida, but for now, it appears as though GTA 6 has a confirmed Dexter Morgan Easter Egg in it.
If you’re unaware, Dexter Morgan is a “friendly” serial killer who stars in the Showtime TV series Dexter. The main show ran from 2006 to 2013 and has produced multiple spin-offs, including the show Dexter: Resurrection, which is still running in 2026. Dexter’s apartment in the main show is a common filming location throughout the series and has become iconic within the show’s community. This is where we see Dexter plan his kills, store his victims’ blood slides, and interact with many of the show’s other characters.
If this GTA 6 Easter Egg is something larger within the game, perhaps the building is a purchaseable property, and players could buy the same apartment as Dexter Morgan. Or, Rockstar Games could be hinting at a potential serial killer storyline within the game, and this apartment complex is one of many clues.
At this point, all we know is that the GTA 6 apartment building is essentially identical to the one in Dexter. Beyond that, time will tell if this means anything further, or if it’s just a fun Easter Egg in Leonida.
