PlayStation Plus Essential tier subscribers can claim F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 starting October 6, 2026. This month's lineup also includes ten free bonus items, with seven available immediately and three more arriving between October 6 and 7.
From Tuesday, October 6, all PlayStation Plus subscribers can add the three monthly games to their library. Hunt: Showdown 1896 is described as a new era of the addictively unforgiving extraction shooter. Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is the only game in the October lineup available on both PS5 and PS4. Members have until Monday, October 5 to claim September's games: Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes.
Halloween-themed bonus packs and avatar rewards
Subscribers can claim three HorrorFest packs and limited-time Spider-Man: Brand New Day avatars via Sony Pictures Core from October 6 to 20, 2026. All three Halloween-themed packs are free for members.

The Hunt Starter Pack is the most useful of the three this month. It releases on October 6, the same day the game joins PS Plus. Starting October 6, free limited-time Spider-Man Brand New Day PSN avatars will be available to PS Plus members via Sony Pictures Core. The avatar voucher code expires on October 6, 2027. Non-members must purchase the movie on Sony Pictures Core to receive the avatars. The avatars are only available in regions where Sony Pictures Core is offered.
Regional variations and pack claiming details
Monthly games differ by region. PS Plus subscribers in Japan receive Hello Neighbor instead of Hunt: Showdown 1896. Hello Neighbor was previously announced as part of the October lineup but was done in error. Packs should be claimed as soon as they go live due to limited-time availability.
To claim a PS Plus pack, open the PlayStation Store, go to the PS Plus section, find the Exclusive Packs page, select the pack, and add it to your library. You must then launch the game. A PS Plus membership must be active when claiming packs. Sony’s terms said: "you must own the base game to use a pack’s contents." Most games in the bonus packs are free-to-play.
PlayStation Plus will update subscribers with additions to the Extra and Premium tiers on October 14, 2026.
