FUT Esports secured the first playoff spot at PGL Masters Bucharest 2026. The team defeated Vitality 2-1 on October 26 to finish the Swiss stage with a perfect 3-0 record. FUT's victory came after Vitality picked the opening map, Dust2, which FUT won 13-9. The series decider was a 13-10 win for FUT on Anubis. Álvaro "SunPayus" García was named Player of the Match, posting a 1.33 rating and a 49-34 kill-death differential. The win earned FUT 75 VRS points, moving them from 9th to 8th in the rankings with 1787 points.

Swiss stage results and playoff implications

The Swiss stage concluded on October 28, with playoffs scheduled for October 29-31. FUT's 3-0 record guarantees direct playoff qualification. Vitality's loss dropped them to a 2-1 record. They need one more win in their next two series to advance. Despite the defeat, Vitality retained first place in the VRS standings with 1985 points, though they lost 23 points from the loss. The Swiss stage format uses best-of-three matches, where teams with a 2-0 record can qualify directly by winning their next match.

FUT's dominant run through the Swiss stage

FUT extended their winning streak to five consecutive maps with the victory over Vitality. Their dominant run began with a 2-0 sweep of TYLOO on October 24. They followed that with another 2-0 sweep of Team Liquid on October 25, winning on Cache and Dust2. This set up their decisive match against Vitality.

Vitality's path to the brink of elimination

Vitality entered the match against FUT on a strong run. They had previously beaten 9z and The MongolZ without dropping a map. Their lineup features UK player mezii, French players apEX and ZywOo, Estonia’s ropz, and Israel’s flameZ. Before Bucharest, they had notable wins at ESL Pro League Season 24. Despite maintaining their VRS lead, the loss to FUT puts them at risk of an early playoff exit if they fail to win their next match.

Other teams faced key matches in the Swiss stage. TYLOO defeated 9z 2-1 in Round 3, eliminating the South American side with an 0-3 record. G2 suffered losses to NAVI and Aurora, fighting to avoid one of the biggest early exits of the year. FURIA beat DENDELE in Round 1 but were swept by NAVI. Spirit recovered from a loss to BetBoom by beating TYLOO decisively. Aurora needed overtime on Mirage against Nemiga. MOUZ lost to The MongolZ in Round 3.

Playoff qualification and Major Singapore outlook

The winner of the match between BetBoom and NAVI will join FUT at 3-0 in the playoffs. The PGL Masters Bucharest event is the last tier-1 LAN before invitations for the PGL Major Singapore are locked on November 2. The Major itself starts on November 24, with regional standings determining playoff stage entry. The Swiss standings from Bucharest directly impact Major Singapore qualification and seeding. The tournament grand final is scheduled for October 31 as a best-of-five match.

The PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 playoffs begin on October 29. FUT is set to face the winner of the BetBoom versus NAVI match in the first playoff round.
